Drown

You can see I’m drowning, but your hands are in your pockets.

You can see these waving hands.

Are you looking for change?

I’m sure you can hear my cries and gulps.

There aren’t enough ducks to drown me out.

And all those bubbles. Sure you aren’t looking past them?

But there you go with your hands in your pockets.

Heading to the park’s ice cream van.

Rooting out the change you’ve found.

You could at least buy one for me too.

You don’t have to drag me out,

Just let me have a lick of two.

That would be fine. It would be more than enough.

Though

I’m

in

too

deep

now

It’s such a shame.
